Designed to measure the flow in the fuel line of engine. Produced as one-way (direct) fuel flow meters, and differential fuel flow meters. There are versions for different ranges of fuel consumption. Compatibility requirements: terminal of vehicle tracking system should have one or two frequency inputs.

The measuring chamber case

The case of DFМ measuring chamber is made from Zinc-Aluminum-Copper alloy (known as Zamak), contrary to popular opinion that it made of aluminum. Zinc quota is about 96% in alloys structure.
Zamak alloys are used in the automotive industry for responsible parts manufacturing: carburetors body casting, pumps, speedometer frames, radiator grills and hydraulic brake parts.
One of the main alloy features is the processing compliance by metal-cutting tools that allows reaching high precision accuracy of responsible details processing to observe strict requirements of the design documentation.
Zamak alloy products get glaze in the air forming a thin dense oxide coat over, which protects the metal from further oxidation. The density of the alloy is about 7000 kg/m3, melting temperature is 380 °C, hardness is 80-90 HB (for comparison soft brass 50-60 HB, solid 100-120 HB).
Zinc-aluminum alloys possess high antifriction properties and are often used as a substitute for bronze in friction knots.
Zamak alloy is well suited for automotive fuel flow meters and determines such qualities of DFM flow meter as:
  • accuracy;
  • stability to deterioration;
  • low weight;
  • manufacturability in production.
In the manufacturing process measuring chamber body is molded under pressure, and then, after the testing for leakproofness, is exposed to machining on high-precision tools with numerical programmed control.

The intermediate cover, closing flow meter measuring chamber, as well as the top cover also is made of Zamak alloy.
Ring

The ring should be light and durable as much as possible, therefore it is made of aluminum and covered by a wear-resistant anoxia covering – colorless or painted golden.
Partition of the measuring chamber

The partition of the measuring chamber is designed as guiding for the ring, for this reason its considerable deterioration is not allowed. Therefore the partition is made of solid stainless steel.
The sealing ring

The sealing ring made of oil-petrol-resistant rubber is applied to ensure leakproofness of the measuring chamber. It is resistant to the aggressive operating environment.
Bracket

DFМ mounting bracket should be not only reliable but also be upgradeable by the installation place. Brackets are made of steel to realize the possibility of cutting, bending and welding.
